One of our competitions for World Book Day was for each class to design and mount a display outside their classrooms. Everybody worked very hard together, and it was so difficult to judge, and choose just one winner. Sue and 3 members of the School Council had a very difficult task. However we did all really like one display best of all, which was the one by Class 5, featuring Roald Dahl's Matilda, and the terrifying Miss Trunchbull! What made Class 5's display extra special was that it continued into their Book Corner inside the classroom.
The prize was to come to the library for afternoon tea, which they did on the 10th March. It was very special, with delicious cakes, "tea" (orange squash really!), tablecloths, napkins, and our very own school cake stands and teacups, made in pottery classes. Everybody enjoyed chatting and relaxing in the Library Tea Room, and then Sue read part of the 'A Mad Tea Party' chapter from Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.
