Mayan masks

We have been learning about the Maya and in Art have been learning about the significance of Mayan masks. The Maya originally used their masks to protect their faces in battle and to strike fear into the hearts of their opponents. We used paper to construct different layers on our masks to represent the different carved features that we saw, and chalk to help us recreate the vibrant colours that many of the masks used.
