Class 8 – 12th May
Theme: Working from the Imagination, again, as we still had paintings to look at and ideas to discuss on this theme.
There were very many comments!
1. Rehan: The Sleeping Gypsy is similar to the paintings of the fierce jungle animals last week…
Ameelia: Its by the same artist, I think. (She is right!)
Safiya: Memory is lijke the imagination (What a profound comment). What is the gypsy doing? Is the lion a threat to the gypsy? Where is the picture set?
Zaarah: Its set in a desert.
Rehan: The lion is probably smelling his prey.
Shahria: Strangely the footprints have been washed away - maybe by a sandstorm.
2. Safiya: there seem to be hearts coming out of her head.
Shahria: I think she liked the beach.
Rayanul: What’s the man saying? His hands look like frog’s hands, spread out.
Shahria: She draws what she sees, but using her imagination too.
Rayanul: The flower one has been improved but the other ones look rushed – she was in a hurry.
Ameelia: I think she is really focused on her work, and very imaginative.
Ameelia, Shahria: Its very rushed!
Rewhan: Yellow and purple are in contrast with each other but still they’re not exactly bold.
Zahraa: In the blue picture she might be sad, they are dark blues and other dark colours.
