In assembly we talked about this question and came up with a really simple answer...just smile! We noticed that even if you are wearing a mask across your smile, the smile will still show in your sparkly, twinkling eyes, which crinkle a little at the edges!
In assembly we have been talking about what kindness looks like. We have been showing kindness by smiling and saying good morning and good afternoon each day.
We celebrated our uniqueness and individuality during Ant-bullying Week with a day when we all wore odd socks!
In July 2019, Year Six held a bake sale to raise money for a children's charity. They made most of the cakes and snacks themselves and sold them in the school playground. The sale was extremely well supported by parents and staff and the children raised £332.77. We recently received this thank you from the charity.
Anti-bullying Week is from 11th – 15th November 2019. At Blue Gate Fields Junior School, we pride ourselves with being mindful of anti-bullying at all times and focus on being kind. Have you seen our Kindness Charter?
On Thursday 14th November, we will be celebrating individuality and uniqueness, which is a national focus, by having our very own ‘Odd Sock Day’. All you have to do is wear your own odd socks to show your support!
Keep your eyes peeled – we will be posting odd sock photos!
