Zooming to Australia with Remy Lai!

       From the comfort of their classrooms, Year 6 had a great Zoom meeting with the author-illustrator Remy Lai. She is the creator of the book 'Pie in the Sky', on which our Tower Hamlets Book Award performance was based. Remy joined us from Australia, where it was early evening; we were just starting our day, as she was ending hers!
Students from classes 10, 11, and 12 had many insightful questions for Remy, which she answered in depth, with  humour and clarity. Remy told us that she really enjoys writing, but that sometimes it's difficult to arrange her thoughts. She explained that she always needs to know what the ending of the story is going to be, so that she can create a path for the storyline to follow.
We are all looking forward to seeing her newest book, 'Pawcasso', which is a graphic novel, and was inspired by one of her own dogs.
Also, we found out that Remy's favourite cake is Chiffon Cake! 

Remy did some drawings for us, including a portrait of Mohammad (Class 10).
