The Year 5 Royal Society Group gave an interesting and entertaining assembly, in which they explained what they had been doing, and how hard they had been working. The Royal Society is an ancient scientific institution, which has an annual award for the best book written for young people about science. Over 10,600 young people, from all over the UK, took part. Six books were shortlisted for this year's prize, and the group had to read and discuss all of them. They then voted for their favourite book. The overall winner was 'Planetarium' by Raman Prinja and Chris Wormell. However, our group preferred 'Kid Scientists' by David Stabler and Anoosha Syed.
