Due to their recent success, Blue Gate Fields Junior Year 6 Girls Football Team was invited to represent Tower Hamlets at the London Youth Games. They travelled to Crystal Palace National Sports Centre along with other teams from different schools from around Tower Hamlets. It was a great experience for them all as they were lucky enough to meet Rachel Yankey who has played for Arsenal Ladies, GB Olympic Team and England Women's Football Team.
A group of year 4 girls performed at the Tower Hamlets Dance Celebration to the song 'Hold my Hand' by the singer Jess Glynne. They have been rehearsing during their dance after school club for the whole spring term and have been very dedicated. All the hard work paid off and they all did very well on the day!

Our year 5 and 6 Girls Football teams played in the Tower Hamlets Borough Final at Mile End. Both of the teams played well on the day and enjoyed themselves very much. The year 6 team made it all the way to the final but lost on penalties. It was a great day and they were all positive representatives of Blue Gate Fields Juniors. Great work girls!
We sent a group of 8 Year 4 students to the Tower Hamlets Fencing Competition on Wednesday who have excelled at the sport in class. They all completed several matches and displayed great perseverance and determination as they had to play year 5 and 6 students! We had a student make it through to the semi finals and receive a medal for her efforts. It was a great day!
A group of girls from Years 3 and 4 attended the Tower Hamlets Gymnastics competition on Thursday. They all did very well and had a great time meeting students from other schools and learning how to use new equipment. Fantastic work!
During Spring Term the whole of year 4 has been given the opportunity to learn the sport Fencing. They have developed their footwork, defending and attacking manoeuvres and how to score a game. All the students have played mini matches against one another during lessons in preparation for the upcoming competition that a select group will be able to attend. Good luck to those students and well done to everyone in year 4 for their hard work!
