Tower Hamlets Year 6 District Cricket trials were held over the October half term break at Stepney Green Secondary School. Three of our boys participated in the trials over the 5 days. Well done!
One of our students played a game with the Year 6 Boys District Football Team over the half term break. He did really well and enjoyed playing at a higher level. It is great to see Blue Gate Fields students being active during the holidays!
Tower Hamlets District Football Team held trials over the past three weeks. A group of our students attended and tried their hardest to show off their skills and talents for the selectors. We received the fantastic news this week that 6 of our students have been selected. We are very proud and look forward to hearing about their experiences playing with the teams. Great work!
Blue Gate Juniors hosted St Mary's St Michael's Students two afternoons for some fun football games. The year 4 and year 6 students from both schools showed great skill, teamwork and sportsmanship during the games. Well done!
During Seafood Week our year 4 students took part in a workshop at school run by Billingsgate Seafood School. The students were all provided with the opportunity to peel and eat a prawn themselves as well as touch and explore different types of fish. Students also took part in making and trying a fish dip! Have a look at the pictures and see for yourself!
We received some great news this week here at Blue Gate Juniors! We have been rewarded the Gold School Games Mark Award for the 2016/17 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success. We had a high number of our young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfill criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year. Great work!
