As part of Anti-Bullying week, we have been exploring kindness and positivity – what it is, how it looks and how to spread it. Our school councillors, alongside the school ambassadors have been working hard to develop a Kindness Charter as a way to promote kindness around the school. On Wednesday 14th November, BGFJ commemorated the end of WW1 by participating in a 2 minutes silence. During assembly, children explored the contribution of the many millions of people during both the World Wars. They learnt of all the different countries that fought for Britain during the war. Many children were surprised to learn that people from all over of the world fought in the wars and it was not just the European countries. They learnt that people from different religions and cultures joined together as Allies of Britain. They explored the contribution of animals and how they served and died alongside people. While taking part in the 2 minute silence, they had things to think about including contemplating on: - all those who lost their lives due to war. - all those who have lost loved ones due to war. - animals that were killed due to war. - how to solve conflict between friends/peers. Have a look below at some of the slides from our assembly. ![]()
