After a week of talk across school about our exciting futures, Aspiration Day was an opportunity for Year 6 pupils to talk with people from all sorts of working backgrounds about the jobs they do. We invited engineers; a theatre set designer, a doctor, civil servant, and physiotherapist. We were lucky enough to be able to speak with an artist, insurance workers and a television producer. We even had an ex-pupil to tell us about studying for a career in film making! We heard from a barrister, product designers and a lecturer in education!
The day was hugely successful with parents from all classes able to join the Year 6 pupils at the end of the afternoon.
We have had some fantastic feedback from our visitors!
‘… It was an absolute pleasure for us to attend. The children are an advocate to your school and it really interested us to see how keen and eager these children are which made our job a lot easier on the day. Also, the preparation and organisation of the whole event was brilliant.’
‘Thank you so much. I had such a lovely time and it was such a pleasure to meet your pupils; so polite and inquisitive. It is so inspiring to see what you are all doing for this emerging generation.’
‘I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to your school and meet your lovely children. They were all courteous and really engaged in the exercise about where they would spend government money. My overriding impression is of a happy and supportive school and the children are a credit to all of you, as staff.’
The children left brimming with enthusiasm, ideas and inspiration for bright futures!
