We laughed so much when we saw the Year 3 teachers pretending to be schoolkids like us, as they performed the poem ‘Please Mrs Butler’ by Allan Ahlberg. Hanna was very good at being that naughty boy Derek Drew!
Roald Dahl’s ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ was played by Steph, with the other Year 4 teachers acting as the family of foxes carrying out the complicated tunnelling into the henhouse.
Year 5 put on a splendid production of ‘The Minotaur’. Parul was heroic as Theseus, and Sarah was terrifying as the Minotaur!
The Year 6 team gave us a scene from ‘Carrie’s War’ by Nina Bawden, set in World War Two. The props were really good, and included some very convincing sick… yeuch!
Ann and Kathy brought Roald Dahl’s version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to life, with Ann as the hopeless Jack, and Kathy as his impatient mother, both hilariously played.
The final act had us all roaring with laughter. Mark and Dan played a scene from Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’, where the unfortunate Bruce Bogtrotter (Dan) is forced to eat an enormous chocolate cake in front of the whole school, by the horrendous headmistress, Miss Trunchbull (Mark). Our school cook, Lisa, provided the chocolate cake, and had a cameo role as the cook in the scene. Luckily for Dan, it was only one slice of cake!
