As part of our topic about the Romans, Year 3 are visiting the Museum of London in Barbican. We explored rooms that wealthy Romans might have lived in and sketched what we could see. We loved spotting the different mosaic designs that covered the floors and all of the exciting food that rich Romans would have feasted on. Here are some of our drawings. To continue our celebration of storytelling week, we were lucky enough to welcome star storyteller Pat Ryan to year 3! Pat told us three exciting Roman myths, including how London came to get its name and the tale of Echo and Narcissus. We can't wait for him to come back next year!
Storytelling week was kicked off this morning with an incredible assembly! Year 3 have also been busy preparing their own stories. Class 1 are retelling the Roman myth of Romulus and Remus while Classes 2 and 3 are retelling their favourite fairy tales but watch out, these ones have gruesome twists!
Years 3 and 4 were visited by the NSPCC this morning for an assembly on learning how to speak out and stay safe. We also learnt a handy way for remembering Childline's telephone number: 0800 1111.
With Art specialist Julia this morning, Class 2 created some observational drawings of one another. We thought about what acts of kindness we might see around school and drew our models acting out the scenarios.
As part of our end-of-term assembly, Class 2 performed some of the songs that they have been learning during their drumming lessons with Jerome, our specialist Music teacher. Here they are in action!
