Year 3 have been busy researching and designing a healthy snack for a snail. Using Chromebooks, we discovered that snails like eating juicy fruits such as apricots, kiwi, melon and strawberries, as well as vegetables including cucumber and lettuce, and some seeds. We also discovered that processed foods with sugars and salt can be extremely dangerous to snails. This supported our science learning about healthy eating as we know we should have least amounts of fats, sugars and salt in our diet. Next, we worked in groups to design a healthy snack for our snails, considering which foods are in season and which would be readily available. Next week, we will make our healthy snail snack! Here are some photos of us researching, as well as our designs. Comments are closed.
