Before we start, try this optical illusion. How many black spots can you count?
Picture
Answer: There are no black dots.

If you focus directly on each dot, you'll see that all of them are white.

Session 1: PE

Let's join Joe and start the day with some exercise. Today the dice will decide what exercises you will do! Grab some water and let's get started.

Session 2: Literacy

1. Start by looking at this sentence telling us how heavy a whale's heart can be. Can you find three nouns in the sentence?
Picture
2. Today you will be investigating the suffixes -er and -est. Watch this video and remember to pause when the teacher tells you to or when you need some thinking time.

Break

It's time to take a break! Go and stretch your legs and maybe get a snack. While you do that, here is a riddle for you to think about.

Geography

It's now time for a geography lesson. We are going to review our knowledge of volcanoes that we were learning about last term. Remember, a volcano is an opening in the Earth’s crust that allows magma, hot ash and gases to escape. Read the text on the BBC website then watch the video:
BBC Bitesize - Volcanoes
Picture
Continue reading to find out about eruptions. Most volcanic eruptions are caused by tectonic plates moving towards each other, which usually produces violent eruptions. Then watch the video to see some different volcanic eruptions of different sizes.
Picture
Now you've reviewed your knowledge of volcanoes, scroll down to the bottom of the BBC website to take a short quiz:
Picture
Finally, download this activity that gives volcano keywords and definitions. Use these to label the cross section of the volcano.
