Buenos dias, Year 3!

We hope you had a lovely weekend and are very sorry that we can’t all be together in school today. We are thinking of you all and hope you enjoy our day of remote learning! You can email us at year3@bgfjs.org to tell us how you got on.
Here is today's timetable:
Picture
Before we get started, have a look at this optical illusion.
How many legs does this elephant have?

Session 1: PE
Let’s get moving with some PE with Joe! Remember to have a drink of water if you get thirsty!
Session 2: Literacy
1. Begin by practising your Jarman handwriting.

Today, we are focusing on our diagonal joins.

Remember those rugby-ball letters!

2. Next, listen to The Fate of Fausto by Oliver Jeffers. We will be doing some work linked to this book next.

3. Finally, we are going to explore word classes. Watch this video and remember to pause the video when the teacher asks you to.

Remember you can also go on Active Learn to read some books.

Break
Time for a brain break!

Can you say the colour of each word? Don’t read the word, just the colour that it's written in!

For example, I would say “red” for the first one because the colour of the writing is red.

(Did you know that in the United States of America, colour is spelt "color"?)

Session 3: Maths
1. Starter: Can you unpick which digits the fruits represent?

2. Today, we will be learning and recapping how to add and subtract 3-digit and 1-digit numbers. First, watch the video.

Aut3.4.3 - Add and subtract 3-digit and 1-digit numbers (not crossing 10) from White Rose Maths on Vimeo.

3. Next, have a go at these activities.

Remember you can also practise your Maths skills on Mathletics and Times Table Rock Stars.

Lunch
Remember to wash your hands before you eat! Here are some lunch activities to keep you entertained.
Why not have a go at spotting the four differences in Oliver Jeffers’ illustrations?

Or you could have a go at creating your own masterpiece on Tate Kids.

Session 4: Spanish
This afternoon, you will learn how to introduce yourself. Listen to this song and have a go!
To watch the rest of the video, log in to your Rockalingua account, if you can remember your login details.
Use the comic strip to practice and follow along! Maybe you can teach a family member and practice with them as well!

Storytime
Today’s story is Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller and Jen Hill.
You’ve worked so hard today! Remember to email us at year3@bgfjs.org to tell us how you’re getting on. Remember to say who your email is from!

Have a lovely evening!
