Hola, Year 3!  How are you feeling this morning?  Are you ready for some wake up exercise with Joe?
 
Here is today’s timetable:

PE with Joe

​9-9.30: Jo Wicks, a fitness coach, is running PE sessions for children every day at 9am on his Youtube channel. So, if you’re unable to do it at 9am, all his videos will be saved on his channel for you to use at another time.  Remember to take a sip of water if you need one.

Lesson 1: Science

1)   Place the different items of foods in the correct food group. Download the sheet and have a go. 

Challenge: Can you remember the function (job) for each food group?

2)  Design a healthy meal for someone in your house. It could be for your mum, dad, sister or brother. You can download the worksheet or draw your own.

Challenge:  Can you explain why you have chosen these foods for your healthy meal?

Break
Time for another brain break.  Go grab yourself a drink and talk to someone about how you’re doing!  Remember to wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds before getting something to eat or after going to the toilet!
 

     Joke:         What is brown, hairy and wears sun glasses?
     Answer:   A coconut on holiday!

3)   Add a fronted adverbial to these phrases. You can use the example sheet of fronted adverbials to help you or use your own. 

1.   he ate his breakfast

2.   the tiger pounced

3.   she yawned and waited

4.   the air is cold and fresh


Challenge:  Write your own sentences using different fronted adverbials.

It’s time to relax.  First things first, remember to wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds before you eat!  What will you be devouring for lunch today? Something mouth-watering and deliciously healthy?​
 
     Riddle: What has two hands, but no fingers, a face, but cannot eat, and moves at a regular pace, although it has no feet.
    (The answer will be revealed at the end of the day...)

Lesson 3: Numeracy

1)   Practise your times tables. You can ask someone in your house to time you. Download the worksheet here.
