Here is a picture of a lighthouse in a storm. What do you see, think and wonder about it? Some questions you might like to think about:
  • Is there anyone inside?
  • How would it feel to be inside that lighthouse?

Lunch

It's time for lunch! Go and get some food to feed you mind and body and take some time away from the computer. While you're away, see if you can solve this riddle:
A bus driver was heading down a busy street in the city. He went past three red traffic lights without stopping, went the wrong way down a one-way street, and answered a message on his phone. But the bus driver didn’t break any traffic laws. How?
Find the answer just before story time.

Session 4 - History

Today we will be finding out more about life in Britain before the Romans invaded.
Watch Louise's video to find out what to do.

Picture
First, watch this video to help us remember what life was like for the Celts in Britain during the Iron Age (just before the Romans invaded).
Next, scroll through the typical jobs needed in a Celtic tribe.
Find one job you think you would like to do, read through all the information to find out exactly what they do and why it is important.
Write a sentence to say which job you have chosen and why it is important. You can use the sentence starters:
My job is...
It is important because...

Riddle answer:
A bus driver was heading down a busy street in the city. He went over three red traffic lights without stopping, went the wrong way down a one-way street, and answered a message on his phone. But the bus driver didn’t break any traffic laws. How?

He was walking, not driving. (You expect that since he’s a bus driver, he’s currently driving the bus — but I never actually said that!)

Story Time

You've reached the end of your learning for today! Now sit back and relax while you listen to Donna David read her story Oh No, Bobo.
You’ve worked so hard today! Remember to email us at year3@bgfjs.org to tell us how you’re getting on.

Have a lovely evening and see you tomorrow for more home learning.

Louise, Tatiana, Bonnie and Robyn
