Year 4’s Science topic is States of Matter. We have been learning about fair testing and planned a test which we kept all variants the same apart from one. Our test was to discover what would melt first; butter or chocolate. We discovered that butter melts faster than chocolate. We also discussed that both butter and chocolate had to be heated to melt. Which changed the state from solid to liquid. Some children even identified that when the butter sizzled it produced a gas! After some time we looked at the butter and chocolate again and saw that the state had been reversed back to a solid as it had cooled down. In Year 4, the children have been learning about Jesus and why he is inspirational to some people. The children have been learning about different parables to explore and discuss his teachings and qualities. They explored the Happiness sayings of Jesus (The Beatitudes) and created their own version of the Beatitudes by thinking about what makes them blessed or happy.
Blessed are those who are polite. Blessed are those who are kind. Blessed are those who do right. Blessed are those who are fair. Blessed are those who give to charity. Blessed are those who share. Blessed are those who do good. Blessed are those who help others. Blessed are those who comfort. Blessed are those who forgive. Blessed are those who make people happy. |
