On Monday 11th February, Katie’s literacy group went to the National Gallery. They had a fabulous day hearing stories about the paintings, learning about the different people in the paintings and even meeting one of them!
They discussed descriptions and emotions depicted in some of the paintings and did their own freeze frame interpretations of the emotions.
After the visit in gallery, we walked in the sunshine through Trafalgar square, where we met a giant panda! We then climbed onto the Millennium Bridge to take in the view of London’s skyline and learnt some interesting facts about River Thames.
To finish the day, we did our own mini obstacle course around the square in Somerset House before heading back to school on the Tube.
