Across the school, pupils worked with Adi, a storyteller and actor, to tell and perform stories. Year 4 heard the story of Anansi which is an ancient tale from Ghana passed on over years and years by word of mouth. Working with Adi, the children made freeze frame pictures to help them to retell and then write the story. Class 4 visited the Museum of London to learn about the Romans. They learnt about Roman homes, furniture and food. It was surprising that only the wealthiest Romans had glass in their windows! They found out that the Romans invaded Britain before the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons. When Year 4 visited Horton Kirby outside activity centre, they wore their wellington boots to explore the river habitats of insects. Some of the insects were surprisingly big, even weird in how they looked! They discovered interesting rocks but they weren't fossils! The best part of the day was exploring the forest to find pine cones and twigs which they made into insect models using clay. |
