This week, in Design & Technology, we are designing and building an alarm system to help warn the King (in the story, The King Who Banned the Dark) about anyone who tries to switch off the lights. Let's hope the King's happy with our alarm systems or else we might get banned too! This week, year 4s are working with Anna to tell stories from Anglo-Saxon and Viking times. The stories which we will be performing are: Beowulf and Grendel, Beowulf and the Sea-Hag, and Beowulf and the Fire Dragon. Here are a few photos from our rehearsals.
This term in literacy, we have been reading the story, Beowulf and Grendel, the Monster of the Night. Today, we created our own version of the character Grendel by using what we know from the story, and we described some of its features.
This week in science, we were constructing a simple circuit using wires, a bulb and a battery. We had lots of fun!
Today, we used our story maps to summarise the story 'Beowulf and the Monster' and we performed it to the rest of the class.
Today in maths, Louise's group practiced their 7 times table by creating a fortune teller and going through the times table with each other.
We had an enjoyable time during Class 4's Got Talent this Friday afternoon - we had some mysteries to solve and a very funny acting sketch. Well done Class 4!
To celebrate World Language Week, Year 4 had a go at some pretty tricky Spanish tongue twisters.
