Here is today's home learning for anyone that still needs to self-isolate at home. You don't need to do this if you are back in school.
Lesson 1 - Maths
Starter: Let's practise our 2, 4, and 8 times tables.
Click on the blue button to open today's questions. Have a go at all the questions on page 1 and then choose at least 5 questions to do from page 2. You don't have to do all of page 2, unless you want the practice.
Activity 2: Spend 15 minutes practising your times tables on Times Tables Rockstars.
Activity 3: Spend 15 minutes on Mathletics practising your maths skills.
Lesson 2 - Literacy
Starter: Practise using coordinating conjunctions
Activity 2: Spend 30 minutes on Active Learn. Choose a book that your teacher has set you and read it carefully. Each time you see a little green bug, click on it and answer the questions. You will earn points that you can redeem in your account.
Lesson 3 - Geography
Maps have a lot of information on them so it could take us a long time to find a particular place. Can you suggest a way to help someone locate a place quickly?
These are imaginary lines created by mapmakers. Each line has a number.
Watch this video to learn more. You can stop at 1 minute 30 seconds.
Grid references are used on maps of real areas to help people locate places and sites that they want to visit.
These are Ordnance Survey (OS) maps, which use grid references. Click on them to make them larger.
Let's have a go at locating places on an OS map for Happisburgh (Haze-bruh).
1. Click on the map of Happisburgh above.
2. Have a go at answering these questions.
