What to do today:

 1. Make predictions
• Look at Front Cover. Write notes to say what you notice and what predictions you can make about the book. What might the title mean? What do you think the ‘Underground Railroad’ might be?

2. Listen to the story - Henry's Freedom Box
• Listen to the reading of the story on the link below.
• What did you like about the story? Was there anything that you disliked? Did it remind you of anything you have read or seen? What questions or puzzles did it leave you with?

3. Order the events of the story
• Cut out the Map of Events.
• Re-arrange them so that they are in the right order.

4. Read the Author’s Note
• Read the Author’s Note.
• Answer Author’s Note – Questions.

Try the Fun-Time Extra
- Design a back-cover for the book. Write a blurb to tell people about the book and add a design that will make them want to read it.

Numeracy
Nasima, Louise and Jasminara's group

Today we are going to learn how to compare decimals.
Watch the video to remind yourself of how to do this using the greater than, less than and equal to symbols. You can pause the video if it asks you a question to give you some thinking time. Watch it more than once if this helps.
Then click on 'BBC Bitesize' for further explanation and activities. Answer the questions and then check by scrolling through the PDF.

Art

Today we are going to explore the basics of exciting paintings. We're going to take a close look at three artists - Andy Warhol, Wassily Kandinsky and Jan van Eyck and examine how they made their artwork exciting to help us gain some inspiration.

Click onto the link below and watch the video clips for each artist. You have three activities to try at home. You can choose to do one, two or all three!
