It’s the start of a new month!
We are so pleased with the feedback on the activities you have been completing. A very big well done to Adam, Tasfia, Myesha and Mohammed for emailing us with their learning progress! Well done to all of you that are continuing to build on your learning - we are very proud of you all. Please continue to use our Year 4 email address firstname.lastname@example.org to keep in touch. Send us any questions that you have or photos of your work or even a message to say hello. We are here for you!
You ready for today's learning? Put your thinking caps on!
9-9.30: Isn’t Jo Wicks inspiring? He makes us want to train hard to get fit! Remember all his videos will be saved on his channel for you to use any time you like. Now take a sip of water and get ready to train!
Lesson 1: Literacy
This week you have been collecting information about eagles using textbooks (Active Learn), websites and watching video clips. Use the notes you have made to write a short non-chronological report.
You can use the template on the right to help you organise your ideas into groups.
• Can you change the subheadings into questions? E.g. Diet: What do eagles eat?
• Could you use Alan Peat’s ‘If, if, if then…’ sentence to close your report?
• Don’t forget to draw a picture of an eagle and annotate!
Lesson 2: Numeracy
Nasima, Jasminara and Louise’s group:
Today we would like you to log into Mathletics and work on the addition and subtraction problems that have been assigned to you by your teacher.
Once you have completed them, have a look at challenging yourself with the problems below!
Vicky and Bonnie’s group:
Today we will continue to develop our understanding on data handling.
You should now feel confident in your understanding of data. We would like you to log into Mathletics and practice some of the tests under the title 'Data Handling'. Click on the link below and log in.
To all of Year 4: Don’t forget to practice your times tables using Times Table Rockstars - you can find your friends and have a competition on there!
Lesson 3: Geography
This week we have been exploring Europe.
Time to show off!
Get creative! Make something to show what you have learnt about Europe. You can send us an image and we will load it onto our Year 4 blog.
Here are some ideas to choose from, but you could always think of your own idea too.
• Make a globe using papier mache
• Create an Atlas for Europe
• Create a Fact page about Europe or a county you have learnt about.
• Create some top trump cards about European countries.
• Make a list of all the countries in Europe, alphabetise your list.
Have fun with this and get creative! We can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to, remember you could do your own extra research too.
Here are some websites you can use to do additional research:
• BBC website
• BBC Bitesize
Don’t forget you can also use your ActiveLearn account to read books on Europe.
