Hello Year 5!

20/4/2020

We have exciting news to share with you Year 5!

The Natural History Museum have kindly posted an online interactive, where you can explore the amazing journey of Hope, a blue whale, who is suspended on the ceiling of Hintze Hall. The online interactive includes a behind-the-scenes peek of the Museum's collections.

Once you have clicked on the link below, select one of the three scenes to explore different parts the whale’s story. Then, select an icon to explore further details of the blue whale.

If you find out any interesting facts, jot them down and email them to us at year5@bgfjs.org

Hello Year 5!

1/4/2020

We are missing you all a lot, but have really enjoyed hearing from so many of you!

Although this is a very strange time, it is really important that you are making sure your heads, hearts and bodies are healthy. One way of doing this is to think positively! Sometimes this is hard but the more we practise, the more it becomes a habit.

To get us started, let's have a go a this exercise:

STEP 1:
Write down these three words and draw a shape around them:

STEP 2:
Write down three things that you are, that you can do and that you have.
For example: I am a good friend. I can use my imagination. I have a loving family.

STEP 3:
Reflect on how it feels when you think, say and write positive things about yourself. Does it change your mood?

STEP 4:
If you would like to share what you have written, you can email us. Don't forget to put your name at the bottom, so that we can see who it is from.

Take care Year 5 and try to keep you heads, hearts and bodies healthy,
Charlotte, Alice and Sophie
