Yesterday afternoon, we had a road safety workshop. We learnt how to keep safe when we are crossing roads.
Every Wednesday afternoon throughout the Autumn term, Class 7 have enjoyed the privilege of working with artist-in-residence, Liz.
During these sessions we have been noticing shape and pattern, perspective, shadows, contours and how all of the details interact, in order to draw a variety of different objects. These have ranged from small toys, to textured materials which extended our thinking about the Autumn Term science topic, Materials. This week we painted beautiful, rosy pomegranate chunks beside vibrant slices of lemon. We were very happy with our colourful results. Our finished pieces are stunning. Some of us managed to blend dense, rich colours and use very thin lines to illustrate our page with what we saw in front of us. We've been busy being scientists again! Today, we were using different equipment to try to clean dirty water. We used tongs, a colander, a sieve and some filter paper to try and remove the twigs, stones and dirt from the water. Some of us ended up with clear water while others have reflected on how we could improve our experiments for another time.
