Listen to some of the children's discussion below. As part of a whole school focus on right and wrong, Year 5 have been exploring the question: How do religious people decide how to solve dilemmas? The children used and built on prior learning about dilemmas and applied religious scriptures to help give advice. They then worked in pairs to develop their own 'wise advice', drawing upon different religious texts and other 'guides' that helps them decide on making decisions.
This week at Blue Gate Fields Junior School, the children all took part in a workshop with Coram Life Education. In Year 5, we explored the importance of physical and mental wellbeing, the influence of friends on decision making and how to be assertive as well as the risks of smoking cigarettes.
