What a lot of fun we had playing dodgeball in our Christmas jumpers! Everyone joined in with the games and tried their best. Thank you to Emmah and Chantelle for organising such an enjoyable day.
Year 5 have been continuing to practise their joined Jarman handwriting. Charlotte was particularly impressed with these pieces of work from a Topic lesson about The Awa Tribe from the Amazon rainforest. These children took their time and put a lot of effort into creating the Jarman letter patterns. Can you spot the rugby ball shapes in letters such as 'a'?
We had a visitor from the London Fire Brigade today who came to teach us how to keep safe from fires at home. We learnt about what sort of objects might cause a fire and how to prevent this. We also now know that smoke alarms are crucial in detecting fires especially during the night when we are asleep. Using role-play, we practised what to do if a fire occurs at home and how to escape safely. Did you know that, in London, the fire brigade can be at the scene of a fire within 6 minutes? We feel very reassured after our fire safety training and are looking forward to sharing the advice with our friends and families.
