16/7/2020

Good morning year 5,

Welcome to the last day of year 5!

Alice, Sophie and Charlotte would like to start today's blog by saying a huge well done! This year has been a bit of a strange one, but one that you will remember for the rest of your lives. We are incredibly proud of everything you achieved during school with us and all your hard work during the school closure.
We hope you remember some of the fantastic memories you created in year 5 and look forward to seeing your smiley faces in the corridors in September.
Have a fun summer break and don't forget to read every day!

Here's today's timetable:

Lunch time - Treat yourself to a delicious healthy lunch, while enjoying a break from your screen. Don't forget to wash your hands before you eat.

Lesson 3 - Reflecting on year 5

We want you to spend some time thinking about year 5 and all the fantastic memories you made. It seems like quite a long time ago now but here are just a few of the exciting things you got up to during your time in year 5.

  • What was your best memory from  year 5?
  • Who did you have a really good friendship with?
  • What was your favourite subject? Did it change from year 4?
  • Which topic did you love learning about?
Have a look at the year 5 blog to remind you of what you got up to! Don't forget, we started uploading in September so there are lots of pages to flick through!

Your activity:
Create a poster to remember year 5 by.
You might chose to include a section about friends, clubs, lessons, teachers, fun memories, challenges, proud moments... It's completely up to you.

Decorate your poster with drawings and colours to make it eye catching.
Below is an unfinished example of how you might like to set your poster out:

End of day - Free time!

Since it's the end of term and you've worked so, so hard on all your home learning, enjoy some free time! Of course if you would rather be doing home learning, you can use this time to visit Mathletics or ActiveLearn Primary.

Even though the home learning blog has come to an end, next week we will upload a blog post with lots of ideas for you to use over summer (if you want to).  However, please remember that you have been working very hard and you deserve a rest!

Once again, a huge well done for all your hard work this year. We hope you have enjoyed the home learning and would love to see the last few bits of work sent to year5@bgfjs.org

Have a fantastic, restful summer. See you in September!
Alice, Sophie and Charlotte
