Good morning Year 5!  We hope that you all had a lovely weekend and are feeling rested ready for another week of home learning.

Here is your timetable for today:

Memory links:

  • place value knowledge
1) Watch the video.

Year 5 - Week 8 - Lesson 1 - Multi-step addition and subtraction problems from White Rose Maths on Vimeo.

Break time - Wash your hands for 20 seconds, fetch yourself a refreshing glass of water and take some time to relax.

Lesson 2 - Literacy
This week, we are going to learn how to write a set of instructions.  To do this, we will need to look at language and word meaning.

Lunch time - Well done for all your hard work this morning.  Wash your hands for 20 seconds and have a delicious, healthy lunch to give your brain some fuel for this afternoon.

Lesson 3 - Spanish
Picture
Memory links:
  • We have been learning vocabulary to help us talk about our family in Spanish.
  • During the Easter holidays, you might have created your own family tree.  Click here for a reminder.
1) Watch this new video of a boy describing his family tree:
Here is an example of a family tree.
2)
Try to fill in the blanks using the correct Spanish vocabulary.  You can draw your own version if you would like to.
Picture
3) Practise writing sentences in Spanish, like in the video.

For example:
Esta es Ana, mi mama. Ella tiene 37 años.

(This is Ana, my mum. She is 37 years old.)

Picture
End of the day - 'Guess the Logo' quiz!
Have a look at these logos and see if you can work out which company they belong to.  You could ask your family to help you with any that you're not sure about.

Remember that you can email us on year5@bgfjs.org and Julianne and Kaz on well-being@bgfjs.org if you have any questions or worries.

Best wishes to you all and your families,
