Year six have been creating some brilliant artwork with the talented Julia, who is an artist-in-residence here at Blue Gate Fields Junior. The theme of this artwork was ‘Victorians in The Countryside.’ We paid attention to the expression on the faces of the models as we drew them, and tried to capture the right perspective using yellow pastel and black charcoal for the drawing. At first, we drew in a local park which has an old Victorian school behind it. We tried to incorporate the building into our drawing. After that, we drew in the girls’ meadow here at BGF because we decided that with many plants and trees, it has a similar setting to a Victorian countryside.
