Break

Share what you've learned so far this morning with someone in your household.

2nd lesson: Literacy

Time for some comprehension. Today we are going to read a fiction text called Albion's Dream'. Whilst you are reading, remember to visualise and use your annotating skills to help you picture and understand what the text is saying.

 3rd lesson: Computing

REAL WORLD TECHNOLOGY

Review your understanding of what the Internet is on the slideshow below
Look at the Packet's Tale video below.
Activity:
Can you break the down the  journey of the data packet into step? Draw a diagram to show how a request for a webpage  from a  users computer travels to the server computer storing the website's web page and back to the the users computer again.
Compare A packet's Tale with the BBC Bitesize video (see below) – what are the key points in both videos?

End of the day

You've listened to 4 chapters of Goodnight Mr Tom already. What impression do you get of Willie's character so far?
Buckle up and get ready for the next chapter.
Remember to also aim to read 20-30 minutes each day and get someone to ask questions about what you have read. Go to Active Learn (Bug Club) or read a book.  Remember, reading a magazine or newspaper counts too!

That's all for today. We hope you've enjoyed today's activities. Have a restful evening Year 6.
